Perhaps a batch of unwaterproofed units. . . . . . ?????
"Reading through the reviews I see most are very happy with the comfort of their shoe and only a few mention that they are not waterproof. Whilst I love the fit, comfort and style I am afraid that in even mildly damp short grass my feet get immediately soaked, no more then if i was wearing a completely unwaterproofed product, trainers even crocs. In that respect I am very disappointed as this has relegated their use to almost fashion boots for city use on a totally dry winter/autumn day which is not why these were purchased. . . . . . . . ."

"Love these boots. . . This is my second pair of the exact same boot. I loved them so much I bought them again. The quality is excellent. The fit is perfect for my feet and I wear orthotics which fit in nicely. This boot has a generous heel which is very supportive. The lining is warm and cozy. . Highly recommend. "Love these Helli’s Garibaldi’s. Took them to Toronto over Christmas and they definitely performed! Super warm, super comfy and definitely a great purchase. Additionally, had them in multiple rain sessions and no leaks! They do are a bit slipper on ice could do with a more aggressive sole grip. Might buy a second pair for the future! Thanks HH!"
